Ne yediyse insan, ağzı onu kokar,
Ne okuduysa da sözü ona akar.
Zihin neyle doluysa dilde o parlar,
Gönülde ne varsa dile o sızar.
Giyinse atlasla, ruhu çıplaktır,
Cahil ne yapsa da hali saklaktır.
Bilgeliğin nuru gönülde yanar,
Cehalet kalpteyse dilden taşar.
Servetle övünme, sonu yok onun,
Ruh zengin değilse boştur her sonun.
Altınla sarınsa da cahil bir ten,
Yine de kokar eksiklik içten.
Testi neyle doluysa dışa o taşar,
Kiminde bal vardır, kiminde zağar.
Sözün de tartısı gönülde başlar,
Dolu olan susar, boş olan tıngırdar.
Kimin ne olduğunu söz ele verir,
Huyu belli eder, dili gösterir.
Nice cüppeler var içi boş kalan,
Nice sade gönül, sultanla yanan.
O yüzden kişiyle lafına bakıl,
Yüzüyle değil, özüne akıl.
Dilinle ölçülür ruhun kıymeti,
Bilgiyle yoğrulmuş sözün serveti.
What Is Inside Is Leaking Out
Whatever a person eats, his mouth smells of it,
Whatever he reads, his word flows to him.
Whatever the mind is filled with, it shines on the tongue,
Whatever is in the heart, it seeps into the tongue.
Even if he is dressed with an atlas, his soul is naked,
No matter what an ignorant person does, his state is hidden.
The light of wisdom burns in the heart,
If ignorance is in the heart, it overflows from the tongue.
Do not boast of wealth, there is no end to it,
If the soul is not rich, every end is empty.
Although wrapped in gold, an ignorant complexion,
Nevertheless, the lack of smells is sincere.
Whatever the test is filled with, it overflows outwards,
Some have honey, some have zaghar.
And the weighing of the word begins in the heart,
The full one shuts up, the empty one strums.
Who gives away what the word is,
It shows the habit, shows the language.
There are many robes that remain hollow,
Nice simple heart, burning with the sultan.
So talk to the person,
Not by the face, but by the essence of the mind.
The value of the soul is measured by your tongue,
The wealth of a word kneaded with knowledge.
